Natalie Flanagan at Toad:
This local artist continues to make amazing strides.
She floored a Toad audience with a powerful mix of folk psychedelia with nods
to singers from Neil Young to Lucinda Williams. The integrity of her music was
striking, as was her patient delivery. Flanagan debuted songs from her next
album, which will be out in May and was recorded with Dave Minehan at Wooly
Mammoth Studio.

I’m thrilled and grateful to be presesnting my third
record to you. These songs were written by me and
recorded in my home state of Boston MA, with the help of good friends and musicians, all of whom I greatly admire. Sexy Singers is a collection of seven songs written in the vernacular of what I think of as, American Rock’n’Roll. R. Stones, R. Stewart, Neil Young, Joan Armatrading, and FLA’s T. Petty.
I don’t mean to sound ungrateful in my songs, I’m just trying to be honest . What I really want the listener to understand, even while I’m talking about all these nasty emotions and everything that happens to us in life, is that I really do remember, deep down in my body, what it feels like to believe.
